Founder, Matlo

I build the systems small businesses actually run on.

Websites, search presence, and AI automation, designed and shipped end to end. One person, every function, from the first discovery call to the thing running in production.

Approach

Buying the tool is the easy part.

A website you paid for once and never touched again is worth less every month.

Not because it looks dated. Because nothing on it changes, so search engines stop treating it as a live business, and the AI assistants people now ask for recommendations have nothing current to pull from. The same thing happens to automation nobody maintains. The build is not the work. Staying on the hook after it ships is the work.

01 / Understand

Sit with how it actually runs

Where inquiries land, who answers them, what gets dropped, and which of it is worth changing. Most of what looks like a technology problem turns out to be an unanswered one.

02 / Build

Ship something real, fast

A working artifact early beats a deck. Built on tools chosen for what the client can live with long term, integrated into what they already use rather than replacing it.

03 / Stay

Own it after launch

Hosting, updates, monitoring, and a written monthly read on what changed and why. No account manager in between. The person who built it is the person who answers.

Work

Built, shipped, and running.

Everything below is in production. The two sites are public, so click through and check them rather than taking my word for it.

Website, design and build

Eyeglass USA

A family owned optical retailer with four New Jersey storefronts and no web presence worth sending customers to. Designed and built from scratch, no page builder template. Four locations with maps and directions, brand showcase, inquiry form with location routing, mobile first. Live, hosted, and maintained on an ongoing basis.

Company site, positioning and build

Matlo

My own company site, written and built from the ground up. Server ready static output, full structured data, security headers, redirects, privacy and terms, and a contact path wired to a database with row level security rather than a mail link that quietly fails. Positioning, pricing, and legal copy are mine as well as the code.

AI system, designed and built in house

Inbound lead response agent

An automated SMS agent that answers an inbound lead in under a minute, holds a real two way conversation with memory across messages, qualifies, and hands off to a booking link. Webhook to model to carrier, wired across five services, plus the A2P 10DLC carrier registration and compliance work behind it, which I handled myself. Designed, built, and operated in house at Matlo.

Background

Four years of client work, then I went and did it alone.

Founder

Matlo
Jan 2026 to present

Solo operator, every function. Sales, scoping, design, build, deployment, support, contracts, and company formation.

  • Designed, built, and shipped production websites with hosting, search, and ongoing maintenance.
  • Integrated five services into a working AI system, from webhooks and JSON to carrier compliance.
  • Repositioned the company from a single vertical to a horizontal offering, and wrote the reasoning down before acting on it.
  • Formed the LLC, obtained the EIN and state registration, and drafted the client agreements the business runs on.

Sales and Marketing Coordinator

Aspyre Agency Inc.
Aug 2022 to Dec 2025

East Brunswick, New Jersey. Reported directly to the CEO, running five or more concurrent client projects.

  • Owned outbound pipeline development and the reporting that went with it.
  • Drove the team's first adoption of AI tools by sitting with people and showing them how it applied to their own work, not by circulating a policy.
  • Coordinated delivery across clients, deadlines, and internal teams.

Certifications

2025 to 2026
  • Eight Anthropic certifications covering Claude development and applied AI, 2026.
  • Google Project Management Professional Certificate, 2025.

How I work

  • I do not have an engineering team, and I ship production systems anyway. That constraint decides the tooling, and it keeps the scope honest.
  • I would rather say a thing is not built yet than imply it is. Every claim on this page can be checked.
  • Comfortable being the one in front of the client and the one in the build. The handoff between those two is usually where projects die.

Outside of work

I train six days a week, I am deep into biohacking, and I play basketball, golf and football and snowboard when I can get out. I follow markets and emerging tech closely enough that it shows up in what I build, and I spend a lot of time on podcasts and long form arguments about where this is all going. Based in New Jersey, in and out of New York.

Contact

Open to the right seat, and to the right project.

Strategy and operations, forward deployed and implementation work, or customer delivery. Equally happy to talk about a website, search visibility, or an automation you have been putting off. Email is the fastest way to reach me.
